Hull Marina : Suggested Cruises

Exploring the Humber

The Humber Estuary is a magnificent navigation that must not be taken light heartedly. With strong tides and heavy shipping channels, it can be a dangerous navigation. It is therefore essential that the user has VHF radio and is able to transmit and receive communications.

The Humber is ideal for pootling about and getting some good sailing/ cruising hours in. Alternatively, why not stop over at one of the many ports, including Spurn point, Grimsby or South Ferriby.

There are a number of clubs based on the Humber – look out for their own regattas throughout the season.

A two to three day trip will take you up the coast to Whitby, Hartlepool and Newcastle.
