The river Trent provides a good cruising ground both for day and weekend activities with moorings at Fiskerton, Hazelford and Gunthorpe upsteam and Muskam and Cromwell downstream within easy cruising distance. The moorings at Stoke Bardolph lock are particularly attractive. Those with more time available will find Nottingham and the main canal system a day’s travel upstream, whilst the more adventurous can experience the tidal Trent giving access to Lincoln, Boston, the Chesterfield canal and the Yorkshire navigations, and for those with sea-going craft and suitable experience, the Humber and beyond.
