Suggested Cruises from Diglis Basin Marina
Exploring from Diglis Marina
Diglis Basin is perfectly situated in the Severn Vale and is the point where the Worcester & Birmingham Canal joins the River Severn.
From Diglis Basin you can explore the Worcester & Birmingham Canal which is 30 miles long and terminates in Birmingham’s Gas Street Basin. There are 58 locks in total; 29 of which make up one of the longest flight of locks on the canal system at Tardebigge.
Alternatively, you can venture out on to the River Severn, heading up stream to Stour port-on-Severn where you can join the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal which will take you via the Shropshire Union and on to its terminus with the Trent & Mersey Canal. Heading down stream to Tewkesbury you can join the River Avon and head up to Shakespeare’s Stratford-on-Avon. Heading further down the River Severn to Gloucester you can join the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal, where you can continue south to Sharpness. If you are brave enough, you can rejoin the Severn and head towards Avonmouth and the sea!
